Helsinki, get ready! This weekend, TopVybz Camp brings the spirit of Jamaican Dancehall to the city with authenticity, roots and pure energy. Organized by the multi-talented entrepreneur, artist and dancer Prince from the legendary dance crew Black Eagles, TopVybz is more than just a dance event – it’s a movement and brand that delves into the heart of Dancehall. Prince describes it as a mission to integrate and continue growing Dancehall culture globally, emphasizing a deeper connection to the roots and essence of true Dancehall.
More Than Moves: Exploring the Roots and Essence of Dancehall Culture
The goal of TopVybz events is to teach participants authentically about the Jamaican Dancehall genre globally and offer more than just moves. Prince shares, “Moves are easy for anyone, but without content, you can’t fully express yourself. To be a dancer and artist, you need to express yourself. That’s how you connect and share your energy.” This focus on self-expression and cultural depth makes TopVybz unique.
A Star-Studded Lineup of Jamaican Dancers: Foundation Meets New School
Originally launched in Helsinki, the event reached Romania in 2023 and now returns for its third edition. This time, it features an original lineup of Jamaican dancers from both foundation and new school styles, including Sashi DB, Rollx Hectic Dymond, Nick Overload, Prince himself, Stacia Fya, Dancehall Wazzi, Darkie (making her European debut) and Sara Bendii. Each entertainer brings unique style and energy, creating a rare opportunity for attendees to experience Dancehall in its most authentic form.
Street Vyybz & Tattoo Sessions: A Night of Pure Dancehall Energy and Vibes
And don’t miss the excitement on Saturday night with “Street Vyybz” an authentic party concept bringing back the real energy of Jamaican streets into a global space. Prince envisions an unforgettable experience with music, dance, performances and community vibes, thanks to a carefully chosen lineup.
Adding to the cultural experience, Elli Don from Flame Team will showcase his tattoo skills, offering a unique session where dance meets body art. For those who can’t make it, we, Dancehall Ketch Up will provide live updates, interviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses.
