Jamaican Diaspora – Dancers living & teaching overseas

“DANCEHALL TO DI WORLD!”

As we all know, Dancehall has its origin in Jamaica, a little island in the Caribbean. As the time goes by, cultures are growing so it does with Dancehall. Jamaican Dancers (or their families) are migrating to different places in the world because of several reasons and sharing their heritage & knowledge which let the culture eventually become even bigger.

Therefore it is important to pay respect and homage to the Jamaican creators in the respective countries overseas, especially when you – as non-jamaican- are participating professionally and profit from that culture.

See below an overview of active Jamaican dancers & dancers of Jamaican roots who are residing abroad and sharing their culture ‘Dancehall’ in either regular classes or workshops. Each person’s name is linked with their personal Instagram page as well as team page (if applicable). Check it out 🙂
